Who we are
We are researchers and students from all over Graz (Austria) and are interested in Open Science. Open Science addresses many areas of research (e.g., diversity, open education, citizen science, see UNESCO 2021). Our central focus is above all on the transparency of the scientific process in order to make research more reproducible and replicable. Here you can find more information about our team.
What we do
We want to encourage researchers to share their methods, research data and codes whereever possible. This makes it easier to understand how the research results were obtained and to repeat studies. We also advocate the use of pre-registrations and registered reports. These goals are also part of the University of Graz's Development Plan 2025. We organize journal clubs, discussion rounds and workshops. Here you can find all past and future events.
The "Transparency and Open Science" form for dissertations
We help to identify open science practices in research projects, for example in dissertations. To do this, doctoral students and researchers can add the "Transparency and Open Science" form to their thesis. In this form, all open science practices can be listed "at a glance". Here there is more information on this.
Open Science at the Department of Psychology
As GOSI was largely founded by researchers from the Department of Psychology, we want to trace the developments towards Open Science there. On this page you will find a chronology of important developments. Researchers from other faculties and institutes are welcome to share their experiences with us so that we can also record them here.
